The Langmuir Isotherm describes a absorbate absorbent system  in which the extent of adsorbate coverage is limited to one molecular layer. This isotherm describes Chemisorption. It is to be noted that concentration of absorbate can be used in this equation instead of partial pressure. In that case the unit must be changed to mole/L.
